United Artfair (UAF) aspires to be the most important art fair in India and just been born. In September last year we had the possibility go to their first encounter. With more than five hundred young Indians artists showing their works, without the intermediation of a gallery, we can say that the UAF is not a promise but it is a reality designed for the international art world cast your eyes in this asian country. In addiction to this, others initiatives as works by established artists or his sections for engraving and photography. This ambitious project is therefore an interesting walkaround by prolific indian art.

And what we saw here it was on par with any others international fairs. We have been able to see certain trends in the contemporary art, motifs, techniques and themes which are repeated because the art, as everything that’s creative, it have itself their vital cycles. But also, personal works that mix their own idiosyncrasies and culture from a contemporary perspective, which in the eyes of the art lover, it appears as a revitalizing of the scene.

Some of the most interesting works we saw they offered an attractive profusion of “more is more” typical of indian aesthetics, subjects range from critical, social, dreamlike or fantastic stances. In conclusion, a pleasure for the eyes from which I make you participants with this selection of works.

The next UAF fair has already announced dates. It will take place this year from 14 to 17 September at Pragati Maidan (New Delhi).

United Artfair (UAF) aspira a ser la feria de arte más importante de la India y acaba de nacer. En Septiembre del año pasado tuvimos la posibilidad de asistir a su primer encuentro. Con más de 500 artistas jóvenes indios exponiendo sus obras, sin mediación de galerías, podemos decir que la UAF no es una promesa, es una realidad pensada para que el mundo entero del arte ponga sus ojos en este país asiático. A esto hay que sumar otras iniciativas como obras de artistas consagrados o las secciones para grabado y fotografía. Este ambicioso proyecto resulta así un recorrido interesante por el prolífico arte indio.

Y lo que aquí pudimos ver estaba a la altura de cualquier feria internacional. Hemos podido contemplar ciertas tendencias del arte contemporáneo, motivos, técnicas y temas que se repiten porque el arte, como todo lo creativo, tiene ciclos vitales propios. Pero también obras más personales que mezclan su idiosincrasia y cultura propias desde un prisma contemporáneo, lo que ante los ojos del amante del arte, aparece como un revitalizante de la escena.

Algunas de las obras más interesantes que vimos ofrecían una atractiva profusión del “más es más” propia de la estética india, tratando temas desde posturas críticas, sociales, oníricas o fantásticas. En definitiva, un placer para la vista del que os hago partícipe con esta selección de trabajos.

La próxima feria de UAF ya ha anunciado sus fechas. Tendrá lugar del 14 al 17 de Septiembre de este año en Pragati Maidan (New Delhi).
